Panama’s Urban and Household Waste Authority (La Autoridad de Aseo Urbano y Domiciliario) began an operation on Monday to clean up the streets of Avenida Central, Calidonia, Santa Ana, and Chorillo.
The operation had the objective to clean up Avenida Central for the upcoming Christmas season. The streets received a deep cleaning and a replacement of hundreds of garbage cans so that users can deposit trash where it belongs.
Authorities will begin monitoring the streets for people who litter and charging them an immediate fine of up to $100.
