10 Amazing Spots For Live Music In Panama City

Are your ears craving the sound of the of a live saxophone jazz performance. Or want to rock out to cover bands and local artists? Here are 10 places in Panama City that you can enjoy the sound of live music.

Danilo’s Jazz Club

From Wednesday – Saturday stop by the classy Danilo’s Jazz Club next to the American Trade Hotel and immerse yourself in the soulful sound of jazz. Concerts normally start at 9pm with a $15 entrance fee.

Las Bovedas

This former prison is Casco Viejo is now home to a gourmet restaurant and jazz bar. You head there every Thursday for their karaoke night (not always the best live music but always fun) or Friday for live jazz music. Cover is always free.

Piña Calavera (Previously Onplog)

This funky underground lair in Casco Viejo is the perfect spot to jam out and play a game of pool. Events vary every week but you can typically find live music from Thursday – Saturday.

Lynchburg

This authentic German bar in the San Francisco neighborhood offers up live rock, acoustic, and blues sessions every Wednesday.

Rock & Folk

Also located in the San Francisco neighborhood, Rock & Folk is an alternative bar with a live recording studio, stage, and tattoo shop.

Istmo

This local neighborhood brewery has locations in El Cangrejo, San Francisco, and Condado del Rey with varying live music acts throughout the week. They are also one of the few pet-friendly bars in Panama so be sure to take your best friend with you!

Hangar 18

Enjoy the sounds of live cabaret or acoustic on Thursdays, Salsa music on Fridays and rock out every Saturday at Platea.

El Sotano

El Sotano or “The Basement” is an amazing spot to listen to live local talent. They also have a bar upstairs called El Apartamento (The Apartment) that is a bit more chill when you need a break from the music.

Teatro Amador

Previously an abandoned theater, Teatro Amador was beautifully restored in 2013 to its former glory and is now one of the most popular event venues in Panama City. On Fridays they have live salsa music from 10pm to midnight and they usually have a few special concerts on Wednesdays throughout the month so be sure to visit their Facebook Page for the latest events.
