Panama Hotel Spotlight: Sortis
Hotels are popping up like crazy in Panama City but one that stands out from the pack is Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino. The hotel is part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott which features hotels “exactly like nothing else”.
Why I like this hotel…
Design: The ultramodern decor creates a unique guest experience.
Location: The Sortis Hotel is located in Panama City’s Obarrio neighborhood which really doesn’t get anymore central than that. This neighborhood is known for it’s banking district, boutique stores, classic mansions, and fine dining options which are all steps away from the hotel. But what really sells this location for me is the easy connectivity it provides to other parts of the city.
Only a 5 minute walk away is the Via Argentina Metro Station so you’ll easily be able to get to key places like Avenida Balboa, Mercado de Mariscos, Casco Viejo, Albrook Mall, and more. Plus you’re also just a 5 minute walk away from Via Argentina which is one of Panama City’s coolest streets filled with lots of small restaurants and bars.
Shopping: Panama City’s brand new upscale shopping center SOHO opened in 2015 and is also just a 5 minute walk away. The first floor is home to some of the world’s most exclusive brands like Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and more while the second and third floors house consumer friendly brands like Top Shop, MNG, and Tommy Hilfiger.
Also just a little bit further down the street is Multiplaza Pacific Mall or you could take the Metro to Albrook Mall so plenty of options to fulfill your shopping needs.
Amenities: 13 restaurants on site (10 at the lobby level and 3 within the hotel), a casino, spa, and arcade are just a few of the amenities available to make your stay comfortable. But the #1 reason you should stay here is the incredible swimming pool overlooking Panama City…
Poolside cabana please!
Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links and if you go on to book one of the above hotel rooms, I will be paid a small commission. However, your cost will be the same or maybe even less than booking directly with the hotels. I was not hired by the Sortis to write this post, I just personally think it’s an awesome place to stay 🙂
