2014 is coming to a close and it has been a huge year for the opening of new restaurants and bars in Panama City! If you haven’t made it out to these places yet it’s time to get out and explore somewhere new:
Casa Jaguar is a unique gastropub that just opened in Casco Viejo and it is quickly becoming one of Panama City’s coolest spots to go for a bite and some beers.
Donde José provides one of the most unique culinary experiences you can have in Panama City with an intimate maximum 16-person seating per a meal. They focus on using local Panamanian ingredients and dishes and come out with a new set menu every few months.
Craving some southern soul food in Panama? Head over to Dainer 16 for dishes like chicken & waffles, pancakes, pork chops, meatloaf, and more!
Edén serves delicious mediterranean fusion food and they have done an awesome job remodeling an old house into a restaurant in San Francisco.
White brings a little bit of South Beach to Panama City with a beautiful outdoor terrace and bar that serves sushi and cocktails as well as an indoor nightclub when it’s time to party a little harder.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to open in 2014. The ambience, food, music, and just everything about the place is spot on!
Jerononimo is a new art gallery and bar in Casco Viejo that opened this month. I still need to stop by and see the place for myself but it looks like a cool concept!
El Cangrejo’s popular Istmo Brew Pub opened their doors in Panama City’s San Francisco neighborhood this year and it has been packed with people ever since. It’s a really fun place to go for some house brewed beers, live music, and play some pool with friends.
The ambience of Il Tula is simple but it has some of the best REAL Italian food in Panama. Please give it a try!
Unido is one of my favorite local coffee places to open in Panama. The ambience is unique and filled with an eclectic assortment of items. And most importantly – the food and coffee is delicious!
I am kind of obsessed with this simple sandwich place. The “pepitos” are amazing and very reasonably priced.
Listen to Panama’s best live jazz music at the beautifully restored American Trade Hotel in Casco Viejo.
Xuvia Tequila Lounge has Panama’s largest collection of tequila with over 150 brands! The decor is luxurious and tasteful, there’s a great outdoor terrace with live music, and they have delicious small plates to enjoy while sipping on tequila.
La Buat is a really fun bar to party at! They play crossover and electronic music and there’s usually a good crowd there on Fridays and Saturdays.
The location is a bit hidden and it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. It’s a great place to go for tapas and drinks with friends or a date in an intimate private setting. UPDATE: Atelier is no longer open
