If you are a foreigner living in Panama it can be really difficult finding a church to go to that you feel comfortable at.  And if you don’t speak Spanish, the choices of churches with an English service is very limited.  I really haven’t attended church very often since I have been here because of these barriers.  But a new church has just opened that I highly recommend checking out and it’s called LifeBridge International Church.

LifeBridge International Church has been in the works for a couple of years when Glenn and Susan Herschberger came from Wisconsin to start an English speaking church here in Panama.  Panama was chosen because there are people from all over the world coming here to work, study, and retire.  Through the effort of many people and prayers the church is now a reality.

I want to start off with the location of the church because it is a little bit different from the average church.  It’s located in a movie theater!  This sounds kind of crazy at first but its actually awesome.  The average church in Panama has no air conditioning and wooden benches to sit on.  Attending church at a movie theatre means you get to attend church in comfort.

So the church is at the Cinepolis Movie Theater at Multiplaza Mall at 9:30am every Sunday.  You need to go through the Riba Smith entrance because the other entrances to the mall are usually closed at that time.  At the entrance you will be greeted by the most friendly people in the world and they will help direct you to the right location.

The church service starts off with a band singing a few songs, then Glenn will come out to speak to give his sermon.  The church is based on the general christian beliefs so it is very welcoming for people of all denominations.  It is really cool to attend church here because you’re attending with people from all over the world!  The church is open to everyone, you can be Panamanian, American, Colombian, European, from anywhere.  The mix of cultures together with the same belief is a really neat experience.
