A peace and love festival nestled in the rainforest of Panama is being organized for all souls who crave a natural environment to express their love for nature and others through art, education, and food.

Save the date: March 06, 07, and 08 of the year 2020. The upcoming Huella Festival will feature three days of art, music, local organic food, and you surrounded by exuberant nature, creative and beautiful fellow human beings in Las Lajas, Chiriquí. Free entry, everyone with a big smile is welcomed.

Huella Festival will host live music and carved wooden sculptures, folkloric dance presentations, dynamic workshops for kids, organic agriculture workshops for everyone and more, all inside Lo Tuyo’s organic farm. You will find all sorts of healthy meals and drinks for sale, of course locally sourced and produced. Food stands will include vegetarian and vegan food menu, natural drinks, beers, traditional Panamanian food prepared over an open fire – fogón, fresh organic produce from the farm and surrounding small producers, homemade jams and preserves, cheeses, pure honey. For those who ́d like to take something local back home, there will also be artisan crafts and a flea market.

If you were thinking of making a short road trip, this is the perfect opportunity to go out with your family, friends, and kids. Come over for the day to enjoy all of the activities. Pitch your tent and spend the evening surrounded by lightning bugs and the sound of crickets. This festival is for everyone who shares the vision that a healthy lifestyle includes the care for nature, honesty, harmony, creativity, and values that cannot be measured or bought.

Coming by car from Panama City, turn left into Las Lajas entrance, which is right across the street from the entrance to San Felix. Go into Las Lajas town for 5 minutes following the signs of the Huella Festival until you arrive to Lo Tuyo Farm.

Lo Tuyo is a Panamanian-German project founded by Silke Berger, who is committed to sustainable farming, healthy food lifestyles, environmental education, art, and culture. Lo Tuyo has been operating in Panama since the year 2011 and you can also find their locally sourced and made organic products at Mercado Urbano’s monthly market in Panama City and at the Las Lajas Eco-Market, which Lo Tuyo hosts once a month at their farm.

At Huella Festival, the idea is to share with people from all sorts of walks of life, their creativity and connection to nature in a pristine venue with openmindedness, no plastic, no agrochemicals, 100% joy, peace, and harmony. Imagine it as a “mini Woodstock” adapted to the Panamanian tradition as well as surroundings and current times.

The project has had good receptivity, particularly from small farmers of the Ngäbe-Buglé neighborhood – Silke explains. Through sustainable agriculture workshops, thousands of fruit tree seedlings donated and collaboration with the elementary school of Lajas Adentro (ELA), Lo Tuyo has joint effort and visionary minds. Through several theatrical presentations with marionettes and children and handicraft workshops, Lo Tuyo creates and promotes art projects and theater performances.

Silke reminds all the organic producers that the future is in their hands, since it ́s through their collaborative effort and respect to nature that we will be able to sustain ourselves in the coming future.

“This festival can be the source of energy that small organic producers need and the spark for future generations, so they notice that there is hope in sustainable living.” – Silke Berger.
