The Egyptian government announced last month that they would be doing the first major expansion of the Suez Canal in its 145-year history. In order to celebrate this major announcement they decided to create a series of special edition stamps featuring images of the Suez Canal.
But the designers got their canals mixed up and instead published a photo of the Panama Canal on the stamps instead. The stamp features a generic photo of a ship fading into the image of the Panama Canal Gatun Locks with a map of the Suez Canal above it.
This mix up is definitely a major fail to kicking off a multi-billion dollar project.
