You’ve probably heard of Humans of New York, the widely popular Facebook page that highlights photos of the people of that city along with their stories. Underage pregnancies, army deployments, post-secondary education woes, the difficulties of drug addiction—the stories highlight both the mundane and the extraordinary.

But it’s not just the people who have their stories. Over at Cats of Panama City, the street cats of Panama City have a Facebook Page of their own, and they’re telling their own stories, one meow at a time.

The cats of Panama City roam the streets just like us. They look for meals at the fish market. They find shade in abandoned buildings. They congregate with their cat companions along the Cinta Costera. The even present themselves at outdoor bar patios.

These cats are a part of the community in many places. People leave cat food and water out at night for the neighborhood’s feline street walkers. The Rana Dorada brewpub in El Cangrejo even has its own resident patio cat. His menu favorites are the fish sticks and the pale ale.
