This year me and a group of friends headed to Penonomé, Panam¡ to celebrate the legendary carnaval in Panama there. We spent two days of non-stop partying at the culecos and Peskito, which lead to some interesting things happening. Here’s my list of the 10 things that happened at carnival in Panama:
1. I got sprayed with a fire hose and loved it
2. I ate A LOT of street meat”¦and didn’t get diarrhea
3. My friend got bit by a Zebra
4. We thought it would be funny to meditate in the middle of the street”¦and a crowd of people watched
5. We slept through the parades”¦so I had to go to the one in Panama City when we arrived back on Monday
6. I drank sooooooo much Seco
7. I peed on myself a lot”¦the bathrooms were SO FAR AWAY through a huge crowd – so I urinated on myself like everyone else was doing and then waved my arms to get sprayed with water
8. Someone referred to us as “the gringos from last night”
9. I broke my $4 sunglasses…which is why I bought two pairs of $4 sunglasses
10. I survived and had an awesome time – I definitely know why Panamanians look forward to going to carnival all year!
